Thrifting For Fall

Well it’s September 1st so it’s time to get all geared up for Fall. Back to school seems to drive this home even more. Even if you aren’t a student or teacher, there’s always a certain excitement in reinventing your wardrobe with richer colours, cozy layers and rich textures and fabrics.  But how in the world can a person do this without breaking the bank? Thrifting of course!! 🙌

I for one love scouring the fashion magazines looking for inspiration and then I have a mission when I hit the thrift store.  Here’s what I look for!

1. Good quality booties and shoes

I can’t even begin to tell you how many gorgeous designer brand booties I’ve scooped up thrifting. Lucky Brand, Sam Edelmen, Marc Fisher, etc . Seriously who donates this stuff?

2. Leather and Vegan Leather jackets

I’ve had great luck finding some great leather and faux leather jackets. Anything from moto jackets to trench coats in classic black and brown. My recent thrifting find was this awesome forest green from Dress Barn

3. Rich Fall Pantone Colour

If you’ve ever read any of my previous blog posts, you know I’m pretty much obsessed with Pantone colours.  I always find inspiration from the hot colours for each season and it seems to give me a great starting point on what I look for when I am thrifting .

4. Cozy sweaters, plaid shirts, scarves and great denim

Lets face it, Fall is all about cozy layers. I have found tons of cozy plaid shirts, sweaters and soft well worn jeans 👖 at the thrift store. I’ve even been known to wander into the men’s section looking for oversized pieces.

Thrifting can be much less intimidating if you go in with a bit of a plan as to what you’re looking for. I hope my post gives you some inspiration for your next Fall thrifting adventure! Have fun and thanks for reading!! 🍁🍂🐿
